Fremantle’s cruise season 2019-20 starts on Sunday 20 October with Sea Princess berthing early at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal, Australia’s largest cruise terminal.

Sea Princess will be arriving from Broome, calling as part of a circumnavigation of Australia with 1678 passengers.

Most passengers will disembark for the day before departing on the ship at 11pm but 124 will finished their journey in Fremantle and another 156 will join the ship.

Sea Princess will continue to Busselton.

(Please note that the Fremantle Passenger Terminal is closed to the public on Sunday 20 October. The best places to see cruise ships arriving and departing are the western end of Victoria Quay or North Mole or South Mole.)

Two debut calls this season will be Boudicca on 19 December and Majestic Princess on 22 February.

Two giants of the Australian cruise industry will return early next year: Radiance of the Seas on 25 February and Queen Mary 2 on 14 March.

After two seasons homebasing in Fremantle, Pacific Eden will return on 13 January 2020, rebadged as Vasco da Gama as the ship is changing from cruise line P&O to Cruise and Maritime.

Vasco da Gama replaces Astor, which has done six seasons homebasing out of Fremantle, and will be homebasing out of Fremantle from 13 January.

In all, there are 29 visits scheduled for 2019-20, comprising 14 international visits (where passengers disembark for the day then rejoin the cruise) and 15 homebasing visits (where there is a complete passenger exchange involving mostly local people).

In 2018-19, there were 62,544 passengers who passed through the Fremantle Passenger Terminal (comprising 17,435 transit passengers; 22,408 disembarking and 22,701 embarking).
