Ocean Dream (above) arrived in Fremantle Inner Harbour this morning from Bali on its inaugural visit.

Ocean Dream is chartered by the Peace Boat organisation, a Japan-based international non-governmental and non-profit organisation that works to promote peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development, and respect for the environment.

Peace Boat carries out its main activities of global educational programs, responsible travel, cooperative projects and advocacy activities through Ocean Dream which travels the world on ‘peace voyages’.

Peace Boat's 96th Voyage departed from Japan on 8 January and will return on 5 March 2018.

Voyaging through the Oceanic region, participants will visit various ports in Australia and New Zealand, learning about issues including the indigenous cultures of the region and efforts for environmental sustainability.

Ocean Dream is scheduled to stay berthed at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal until it departs for Adelaide at 5pm Thursday 25 January. (See Shipping Movements for the latest information on departures and arrivals.)
