When: 3pm Saturday 13 March 2021
Where: B Shed, Victoria Quay

Fremantle Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jen Winley

Program:

Richter: Sinfonia a 4 in G major
Mercadante: Flute Concerto in E Minor
Puccini: Crisantemi
Karłowicz: Serenade for Strings
Mozart: Divertimento K137

František Xaver Richter’s early classic symphony in G major is a jolly starter and leads to Saverio Mercadante’s fantastic Flute Concerto in E Minor featuring Michael Howell.  (Listen to Mr Howell’s great performance of the Mozart Flute Concerto with FCO last year here ).

The Mercadante Concerto packs an abundance of sweet melodies, virtuosity and drama all in one.  After the interval, Romanticism abounds with Puccini’s exquisite Crisantemi and the rarely heard Serenade by Mieczysław Karłowicz. The perfect finish is the Divertimento K137 by Mozart brimming with charm and wit.

This concert is also on at 3pm Sunday 14 March at Redemptorist Monastery, 190 Vincent St, North Perth.

Tickets: Tickets through Ticketek here or available at the door (cash only): Adults: $40, concession $35, under 18 years: $20
